Ruby is a very sweet one year old spayed  12lb. girl who was rescued from a southern California shelter after her mother was killed.  At the time, Ruby and her her siblings were only 6 days old.  She was hand raised by an independent rescuer at a local high school as part of a community service project and was surrounded by loving kids and adults.  Once old enough, she lived with her rescuer at her home with multiple other dogs.  Ruby is curious, active, loves the outdoors, is housebroken, and is dog, cat and people social.  She is happy to cuddle with you inside, but she also loves to go out and has done great on her off leash walks at Fort Funston and McLaren Park.  She came to Family Dog because her rescuer now has too many animals and  asked for our help to find forever homes for some of them. Ruby has lived with other dogs all her life and would most likely love a doggie sister or brother. She is up to date on all her shots and is micro-chipped.   Although feeling a bit scared and shy when she first arrived, Ruby  is doing great with the dogs and cats in her foster home.  She is very happy, affectionate and super sweet and a cuddlebug.  She can be a little shy at first, but warms up very very quickly. If you'd like to meet her please fill out an application at our website

How much does it COST to adopt?

Northern California Family Dog Rescue is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation & rehoming of homeless dogs.  Our standard adoption fees are $300-400 for adult dogs and $350-450 for puppies, and occasionally more for rare or purebred dogs.   Your adoption fee includes DA2PP, Bordetella & Rabies vaccines, deworming, flea treatment & heartworm preventative, spay/neuter surgery, microchip &  Wellness Exam, & helps cover the costs of food, transport, veterinary needs, shelter maintenance and staffing for every pup in our care.   We rely solely on adoption fees and donations to keep us going, so we ask that you be as generous as you can!
