Charlie was found stray, too skinny, and quite pregnant, in a school yard in Shafter.  Charlie is a very sweet and playful girl who loves toys, especially the squeaky ones.  She is intelligent and obedient- she knows "sit", "stay", "down", "shake", and always comes when called.

Charlie gave birth to nine beautiful Alaskan Malamute Husky puppies in our shelter shortly after New Year's.  She's busy being a wonderful mom for the next several weeks, but both she and her puppies will be available for adoption in late February/early March.  Check back soon for pictures of the pups!

How much does it COST to adopt?

Northern California Family Dog Rescue is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation & rehoming of homeless dogs.  Our standard adoption fees are $300-400 for adult dogs and $350-450 for puppies, and occasionally more for rare or purebred dogs.   Your adoption fee includes DA2PP, Bordetella & Rabies vaccines, deworming, flea treatment & heartworm preventative, spay/neuter surgery, microchip &  Wellness Exam, & helps cover the costs of food, transport, veterinary needs, shelter maintenance and staffing for every pup in our care.   We rely solely on adoption fees and donations to keep us going, so we ask that you be as generous as you can!
