We don't really know what breed Clara is.  She is a mystery mix with tons of personality. Some say her head looks like there is pug in her genes, some think  beagle or deer head chihuahua.  We know based on her litter mates, that there is some terrier in there too.  When Clara came to us she had a terrible case of non-contagious mange, but that is now 100% cured and her soft golden coat is full and healthy.  She is spayed, microchipped and up to date on all her shots . Clara is very dog social and loves to play.  She walks well on leash and goes on frequent off leash adventures with her foster family. She is a wonderful companion for days on the trail or at the park - she will play with every dog that will play with her. She has great recall and checks in regularly with her human.  Clara is graceful and very athletic and would make a great agility dog. Her only bad habit is that she is unsure with new people and will sometimes "greet" them with a bark or howl, but she adapts quickly. Once she's used to someone, she is a total cuddlebug. Her foster family is working with her to help her be more confident with new people. Clara  currently shares her foster home  with  2 other dogs and four cats and she is getting along great with all of them.  She is housebroken and will sleep in a pen at night, although she definitely prefers to cuddle on the bed.  Because of her shyness, Clara would be best with older kids (14+) only.  Clara's ideal home would include another dog or a home where other dogs visit frequently as she loves company and having other dogs around makes her a more confident girl. Finally, her foster Mom says that Clara is a little doll...very sweet and full of personality and happiness.  If you'd like to meet her, please visit our website at norcalfamilydogrescue.org to complete an application.
